- Tightening a Slack Face: Because premium poly-cotton canvas and heavy wood frames are organic materials, changing climates can cause them to expand or contract slightly. If your canvas face ever softens or slacks over time, simply spray or lightly dampen the raw backside of the canvas cloth with a fine mist of clean water.
