Canvas Print Guide

Canvas Quality, Construction & Care

Every canvas print is professionally produced using premium materials designed for both beauty and longevity. From gallery-quality construction and secure hanging options to simple care and maintenance guidelines, this guide will help you understand what to expect from your canvas print and how to keep it looking its best for years to come.

The Gallery-Grade Structural Difference

Unlike standard retail canvas prints that can stretch, sag, or warp over time, our fine art canvases are built for durability and presentation. Every piece features a hidden, puncture-resistant structural foamcore underlayer that keeps the canvas surface perfectly taut and smooth forever. Combined with our heavy-duty internal wood bracing and professional gallery-wrapping, this collection delivers premium aesthetic and structural integrity, providing lasting beauty and durability for homes, offices, vacation rentals, and hospitality spaces.

Pre-Installed Heavy-Duty Sawtooth Hanger

Our standard mounting option features a heavy-duty, professionally leveled sawtooth hanger fastened directly to the top stretcher bar. Perfect for small to medium-sized statement pieces, this classic hardware provides a clean, low-profile mount that sits tight against the wall. It allows for quick, effortless adjustments during installation, making it the ideal choice for residential spaces and traditional gallery arrangements where art is hung on a single, centralized wall hook.

Gallery-Style Braided Stainless Steel Hanging Wire

For a traditional, museum-quality presentation, this option includes a heavy-gauge, braided stainless steel wire securely anchored to the left and right wooden stretcher bars with industrial d-rings. Designed to distribute weight evenly across the frame, hanging wire is the preferred standard for mid-to-large scale fine art. It provides maximum flexibility when leveling your artwork on standard wall hooks and allows the canvas to drape with a classic, elegant gallery tilt.

Fine Art Canvas Care & Longevity Guide

Environmental Guidelines

    • Sunlight Exposure: Printed with archival-quality materials, your canvas is designed for long-lasting beauty. To maximize color retention, avoid prolonged exposure to harsh, direct sunlight.
    • Climate Control: Avoid displaying or storing your artwork in high-moisture, humid environments—such as unventilated bathrooms or damp pool houses—to protect the organic wooden stretcher bars from atmospheric warping.

Routine Maintenance & Cleaning

    • Surface Dusting: To clear away ambient dust, gently sweep the face and sides of the canvas using a clean, dry microfiber cloth or a classic feather duster. Do not use stiff bristle brushes or abrasive cleaning sponges that can scratch the protective fine art coating.
    • Deep Spot-Cleaning: If the canvas surface is accidentally exposed to grease or grime, lightly moisten a soft microfiber cloth with plain, lukewarm water. Wring it out thoroughly until it is barely damp, and gently dab or wipe the area using minimal pressure.
    • Chemical Restrictions: Never apply household glass cleaners, liquid detergents, or chemical solvents directly to the print, as these agents can permanently break down the archival UV protective barrier.

Advanced Canvas Restructuring (Pro-Tip)

  • Tightening a Slack Face: Because premium poly-cotton canvas and heavy wood frames are organic materials, changing climates can cause them to expand or contract slightly. If your canvas face ever softens or slacks over time, simply spray or lightly dampen the raw backside of the canvas cloth with a fine mist of clean water. As it air-dries naturally, the woven fibers will shrink, pulling the front surface completely taut and flat once again.
